Weekend Events 3/8-3/10

Former Dreamwave personality Ivelisse Velez (aka Juliette the Huntress) gets turned down by TNA in favor of Lei'd Tapa, the neice of the Barbarian, despite winning over her by submission last week. In yet another change with Gut Check, they had Tapa face the judges even after the elimination in which the crowd voiced their strong disagreement over the cut and the vote. What's next for Velez? ROH currently doesn't have an active women's division. WWE isn't likely to take a second look after cutting her from the FCW/NXT roster under mysterious circumstances. Unless the backlash by the TNA fanbase forces them to take a second look very likely she'll be heading back to AAA in Mexico and SHIMMER & Shine that run quarterly would have her back stateside. ADD: Another member of the Dreamwave roster, Bobby Houston claims he spoke to Dixie Carter himself and to confirm Velez has signed a TNA contract. Houston agreed to being quoted as the source on this.

Metro East Championship Wrestling has announced they have cancelled their March 23rd event, citing the injury of Eric Allen as the reason. One wrestler on the DL closes an entire company?

OBIT: Paul Bearer, aka Percy Pringle, the longtime manager of the Undertaker & Kane has passed away at age 58.
